In September 2006, Turner completed a five-year long project for our repeat-client, Greenwich Hospital. The Watson Pavilion is a 225,000-sq. ft. addition to the existing Greenwich Hospital. The building is an integrated reinforced concrete and structural steel structure anchored to rock with a brick masonry, metal panel, punched window and curtainwall façade. The roof is a combination of skylight, metal mansard roofing and TPO membrane. The project includes high-end finishes, mechanical and electrical systems.
This project required the demolition of the Main Building, South Building and East Wing (where the Main Building connected the South Building to the Helmsley Medical Building) while maintaining Hospital operations in the Helmsley Medical Building, South Building (temporarily during construction), and the new Watson Pavilion.
